Ducati Scooter take 2

Well... we reported on this back in March but, we can only hope that when rumours won't go away maybe there is some truth behind them. Solo Moto are reporting that there are some more details filtering through including the idea that instead of the 696cc engine from the Monster... that the 848 powerplant is more likely going to be the motivating force behind this animal. There is talk of some sort of bullet proof toothed belt final drive to transfer power to the ground. It sounds like it will be button or lever operated presumably electronically controlled shifting rather than a traditional CVT but with talk of being able to dial up to 100hp through the variable power options that isn't neccesarily a bad idea. Being called a scooter I can only assume there will also be an auto shift option somewhere in the electrical trickery. The above render is by Oberdan Bezzi and we can only hope this is the line that this mythical animal will follow... assuming it is actually going to happen.

Supercool! The market ask for a bigger and sportier scooter. I guess that more than one "biker" and motor journalist will then look at the new bread of scooter. The Ducati scooter will give a kick forward to the scooter world, and find new owner/byer.
